I picked Friday I'm in Love by The Cure. It's a classic song that I play frequently. Growing up I always wanted to listen to the music my older siblings were fascinated by. The Cure a funky European band from the 80's. Watching this video reminded me of jamming out with my friends band, LoTUS, when I was in high school. You just want to kick it and enjoy the music. Now when I listen to this song it picks me up if I'm feeling blue, or just pumps me up to go out on the town.
Seriously, who doesn't want to be in love on Friday?? You can check out more on the band at http://thecure.com/.
Lyrics:
I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Oh, Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love
Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...
I don't care if Mondays black
Tuesday, Wednesday - heart attack
Thursday, never looking back
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday, you can hold your head
Tuesday, Wednesday stay in bed
Or Thursday - watch the walls instead
It's Friday, I'm in love
Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...
Dressed up to the eyes
It's a wonderful surprise
To see your shoes and your spirits rise
Throwing out your frown
And just smiling at the sound
And as sleek as a sheik
Spinning round and round
Always take a big bite
It's such a gorgeous sight
To see you eat in the middle of the night
You can never get enough
Enough of this stuff
It's Friday, I'm in love
I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love
Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love

GLEE!! yay! the cure, depeche mode, erasure, yaz these are the sins of my youth. mad props to older siblings!
ReplyDeleteAwesome song. I had such an older sibling, and was one in return. The Cure of that era and before was one of my favorite bands.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be very hard to have done any amount of growing up in the 90's and not like this song.
ReplyDeleteIt's like a time machine for your head!
