Pink's lyrics are very honest and vulnerable sounding.
Since I'm a divorce lawyer I deal with situations like Pink sings about in this song all the time. I see spouses do the most awful things to each other. It's sad that someone would treat their spouse, the person they usually have loved more than anyone, worse than they'd treat their worst enemy. And often when the situation is finally falling apart, no matter how bad it's been, one of the spouses will want the other back.

I hate Pinks music. I really do. In industrial sized corrosive amounts. She's one of the few artist that makes me want to change the station as soon as I think that a song of hers might be coming on. But in the spirit of open mindedness and song shares... I gave this a shot.
ReplyDeleteThat being said... I think I might actually like this song. I found myself thinking during the song "I wish someone else was singing." I thought that only because I really liked the music and the main idea of the song... And I hated liking a Pink song. But it is what it is and I've come to terms with it. Thanks for sharing, I liked it. :)
I've always held that bittersweet is the best kind of flavor for art, because it's the most true. "Melancholy Transcendence" I like to call it. This song feels so true because it's about someone who is horrible to the one they truly love. We're all flawed so in the end we're all horrible to the one we truly love . . . sometimes. Right?
