I thought of this song during music night when we were talking about how anything that Michael Stipe touches is gold. Brian Molko is a great song writer and i love his voice. His voice is so unique and emotional. I also like that this song shows Placebo's 2 sides, their quiet sad side and the loud angstful and angry side.

Lyrics:
We'll rise above this
We'll cry about this
As we live and learn
A broken promise
I was not honest
Now I watch as tables turn
And you’re singing
I’ll wait my turn
To tear inside you
Watch you burn
I’ll wait my turn
I’ll wait my turn
I’ll cry about this
And hide my cuckold eyes
As you come off all concerned
I’ll find no solace
In your poor apology
In your regret that sounds absurd
And keep singing
I’ll wait my turn
To tear inside you
Watch you burn
And I’ll wait my turn
To terrorize you
Watch you burn
And I’ll wait my turn
I’ll wait my turn
And this is a promise
Promise is a promise
Promise is a promise
Promise is a promise
And I’ll wait my turn
To tear inside you
Watch you burn
I’ll wait my turn
I’ll wait my turn
A broken promise
You were not honest
I’ll bide my time
I’ll wait my turn
Reminds me of LIVE in a way.
ReplyDeleteGreat song.
well, i never really thought of it, but yeah, i guess... all three of them (the guys from R.E.M., Live, and Placebo) have that higher end shakey voice going on. I know that Ed Kowalczyk was a big fan of REM, and i wouldn't be surprised if the same was true about Molko.
