So the first time i heard this i was like oh man i must steal it! and then i found out if was free... I still stole it =).
It's two songs from bands I really like and it got a cool video to boot. Jack Conte the guy behind this basically made up some rules for the video that make it kinda fun.
They are as follows:
1. What you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice).
2. If you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds).
I think i watched it a few time just to find all the sounds.
So make sure you watch the video and don't just turn it on and go read something else!

ReplyDeleteI love/hate how everything has become DIY enough that everyone can do awesome stuff.
Because when everyone's professional, no one will be.
an amazingly beautiful song. I love what's done with it here...
ReplyDeleteAnd i kinda like the fact that it's become so easy for people to make something awesome. I mean, more choices as to what to listen to can never be a bad thing in music. It still takes creativity, ideas, and vision to make something awesome (even though skill isn't as necessary anymore). I've always loved the indie/punk idea that there are no superstars... there are too many of those, and not enough artists.
Of course, there's the flip side where people can COMPLETELY replace skill and creativity for technology that all but writes music by itself.
And even though this is the first i ever heard of jack conte... i know that aphex twin is been around for a while.
